I have a quick question. When making an overgarment or thobe, instead of cutting out the measurements, can I simply fold the fabric as directed and use an already-made overgarment to place on top of the unfinished garment as a guide to measure? I know it sounds a bit lazy, but I’m just curious if this method will work and give me the same size outcome. Does that make sense?
Walaikum salaam yes that’s fine, a lot of people actually use that method to make all their items until they get the measuring down pack on their own. Just make sure you don’t trace it to a T leave about 2 inches for seam allowance
